A Story of Milk & Dollies
FRUiTS-y Plum
I wanted to take more photos of Plum in her current outfit. Whenever I wake up in the morning, I can't help but smile whenever I see Plum. She just looks so happy and carefree. I think this outfit defines her.

FRUiTS-y Plum

I took more photos of her-- they show her holding some delicious looking donuts that I got in a Re-ment set when I was at BlytheCon. >w< I'm really tired right now so I'll load the rest of these photos tomorrow or sometime soon.

Gaia's Halloween '09 event
I had fun dressing up for Halloween on Gaia, but I was happy to change Milk Kittea into a different outfit once Halloween was over with. ^___^ Ironically enough, my new avatar outfit (the non-Halloween one) matches Gaia's event banner right now.

Photobucket

When I made this avi, my original plan was to revolve all my items around the hair. It turned out that she looked like a queen ready for the upcoming holidays-- especially Thanksgiving. I think the rich cranberries and golds are are responsible for that feeling.

At first I was nervous about kind of straying away from my candies and sweets avi theme, but as it turns out, people are still telling me Milk Kittea is giving them toothaches! Someone even asked me if I was made of chocolate. xD I'm glad my theme is still present even if it's not always literal. My new signature reads: "Milk Kittea, from the royal court of Confectionery & the house of Candy."

At the park on the first day of November
It was so, so, so pretty outside today. The sun was finally out (no rain, finally!) and it was almost warm. Shawn and I ventured to the park down the street and I took some photos of Plum and Jinkies there. I've been wanting to take photos at the park for so long now. I'm glad I had the opportunity to do it before the winter snow hit.

I still have a lot of photo ideas for the park I'd like to tackle, but I think I'll have to wait for another sunny day. I'd like to go a little later in the afternoon when the sun is setting. I love working with natural light, but sometimes too much sun can be just as bad (if not worse) than not enough sun. Oh well, it was still fun today!

Plum's favorite 15
A lot of Blythe people are doing their dolls' favorite fifteen items. I decided to do a photo for Plum! She has so many favorite things... It was difficult to fit even just fifteen of them into one shot. o_O

Plum's Favorite 15

And actually, all the items in this photo are Plum's favorite clothes and accessories, not just the fifteen that are tagged on Flickr. I cheated a little! But I only tagged fifteen of the items, haha. ^____^

I can't wait to take more photos of Plum in the outfit she's wearing right now. She's totally dressed for autumn and winter. I dressed her and Jinkies the other day and they look so cute next to each other. It's been super cloudy and rainy every day this week. I was lucky I got a chance to jump outside for this quick photo today. In fact, I almost didn't get any shots in because the tiny dresses started getting blown away. x_____x Shawn stood outside with me and made sure it all stayed in order, tee hee.

Small internet break
A few days ago, I became bored with most of the stuff I was doing online. I knew I needed to get off the computer and focus on something else. (Actually, this idea hit me when I was on my BlytheCon trip.) When I started thinking about it more, I realized how much stuff I could get done this week without hopping online every few minutes. Now I can focus on projects I've been meaning to do:
  • Read (in particular, finish reading the His Dark Materials series)
  • Set up my hobby room: dollies, toys, plushies, prints, customizing equipment, etc.
  • Possibly start working on a custom Munny (I keep putting it off...)
  • Go shopping with Shawn-- to find a base for our bed since we decided to not use our other one
  • Create a broader, more extensive, workout routine
Basically, I want to feel more relaxed with my surroundings. Reading will help put me in that state of mind. And then I'll have the mind power to finally fix up my apartment more. It's such a beautiful and comfortable place-- I want to make it even more homey.

Note: If you need to reach me, send me a message on Gaia or email me. I'll be keeping up with those two things since I still need to stay connected to friends in some way. ^^

Edit: I just realized that it's exactly two months before my 25th birthday. >w< Ahhhhh.

Moonmallow stole my earmuffs
It's been a pretty rotten day so far... so I decided to try to cheer myself up with some new photos. I thought I'd kill two birds with one stone by getting more photos of Moonmallow in while taking some photos of my new earmuffs.

Moonmallow Stole My Earmuffs!

I have such a love/hate relationship with winter, yet I think it's still my favorite season. I love the snow and the holiday feeling I get, yet I absolutely hate the freezing cold temperatures. >.< Having fun winter items, like earmuffs, make the ickiness of the season go away.

Moonmallow came with me on my trip to BlytheCon, although there aren't really any photos of her on my trip. The only one I took was with my phone's camera, and I believe I posted that on Twitter. n_n I wish I could take photos of Moonmallow doing new stuff every day. I need to start getting more creative with her! I think this is a good start...

Quick Gaia update...
I think I'm about to go to bed... I've been able to get to sleep earlier and wake up earlier ever since BlytheCon. I think all that excitement and constant movement from one place to another jogged my sleeping pattern back into a reasonable place. I'm so happy, haha.

Anyway, I've updated my Gaia avi since I last posted her. Oh my gosh, she's so pretty now. I fell completely in love with the hair when it was released in this new RIG!
Photobucket

I was worried I wouldn't be able to come up with a look that was still my style, use the hair, AND still keep my Halloween costume on... but I think the items I'm using on Milk Kittea really compliment the hair and pull everything together. The hair is so gorgeous. I can't get over how beautiful something as simple as pixels can be.

Alright, enough pixel talk. Sleepy time!

Back from BlytheCon
So much has happened since I left for BlytheCon. I'm not sure I can go through every single thing I've experienced, but I'm definitely going to try. To sum it up in a sentence: BlytheCon was amazing. I can't believe how busy I was over the past few days!

When I arrived at Rebecca's house in Indiana, everything seemed to fall into place. All my insecurities disappeared... She made me feel so welcome and I'm really thankful for that. As soon as Shawn and Ryan left, Rebecca and I got down to some serious dolly business. We talked for a long time as we got ready for our trip to Atlanta the next day. I helped her make a sign for her booth while she cut up some business cards, and I showed her all the dollies and toys I brought with me. I really felt like we had known each other for years.

BlytheCon 2009: Group Photo

Sherri arrived early the next morning. Like I told both her and Rebecca, I was so nervous about meeting Sherri. O__O She's been one of my idols ever since I started collecting Blythes; her saran and mohair reroots are incredible-- one of the absolute best rerooters in the world! I felt intimidated before Sherri arrived, but as soon as she arrived, my nerves settled down. She was so down-to-earth and so much like me... I immediately felt like I could relate to her, and that doesn't happen very often when I meet new people.

Our ride to Georgia was extremely long: about nine hours. Surprisingly, I didn't fall asleep once. Haha, Sherri, Rebecca and I talked the entire time-- about dollies, Pet Society, our lives, and so much more. In fact, we talked about so much, I'm almost afraid I'm going to forget some of the details. A long car ride was the perfect way to get to know Rebecca and Sherri even more.

We were able to settle into Rebecca's mom's house really quickly. I think it's because we were all so tired and hyped up for the next few days. For a while, we sat around exchanging dolly clothes and stories about our girls. I've never had the chance to talk for hours on end about dollies in my pajamas before... I wish I could do it more often. I felt almost spoiled for having such a great vacation so far. My sleep was wonderfully deep and comfortable.

BlytheCon 2009 Aquarium Mosaic

Friday was the day dedicated to the Georgia Aquarium. Sherri, Rebecca, Rebecca's mom and I all went. We were all a little disappointed at how little there was to do at the aquarium, but everything that was there was really beautiful. My favorite part of our visit was definitely the tunnel that's underneath water. To be surrounded completely by water, fish and sharks was incredible. We all loved that part so much that we decided to walk through the tunnel a second time before we left.

One of my other favorite things about going to the aquarium was how interested people were in the Blythes we brought with us. Sherri brought Penny (her @Nai custom); Rebecca brought Tallulah (Betsy's crazy cross-eyed custom); and I brought Nami. We not only had visitors coming up to us to ask us about our dollies, but the aquarium's staff expressed even more interest. A security guard wanted to hold one of our dolls. A few of the staff members in charge of taking photos asked me a bunch of questions about where Blythes could be found. And the absolute best Blythe experience was at the end of our aquarium trip. As we were paying for our items in the gift shop, cashiers started piling up behind the registers to ask us all questions about Blythes. They couldn't get enough of our girls and left customers waiting in line and at registers so they could see the dolls! Rebecca, Sherri and I all took turns showing them our dollies. They loved changing the doll eyes. Rebecca and Sherri got a few photos of all the staff people (like seven or eight, I think) asking us questions.

Dinner that night was fun. The four of us went to a restaurant where we had some delicious meals. I had a shrimp and alfredo meal. *drool* It was so delicious and it was a relaxing experience to have before the busy day ahead of us.

BlytheCon 2009 Mosaic

Finally. Saturday was BlytheCon. All of us were so antsy before we left! We had packed most of our stuff up the night before so we got to the con on time. Because Rebecca was a vendor so we could get into the building before any of the other attendees (which I was happy about because I didn't want to be stuck outside in the cold). The girl she was supposed to share a table with was sick so Rebecca had the entire table for herself. I helped her set everything up and went back-and-forth between the convention room and outside, where more and more people were starting to arrive. I switched between taking my three girls out; a lot of people seemed to already know who they were, especially Pigeon! I had fun posing for photos with my dolls and everyone was incredibly nice. <3

The convention was so much fun, but it all seems like a blur now. Everything was so fast paced. I somehow lucked out and was one of the first people to register. Because of that, I got into the con fast enough to check out all the vendors and their items. I snatched up everything I was instantly attracted to-- oh gosh, my loot is all so cute! I keep looking at all the clothes and accessories I bought.

I was constantly meeting new people. A lot of the people are friends I've had online for a few years. I felt like crying a few times because I was so excited to actually meet some of them in person. After all these years... finally! Pigeon's customizer, Megan, was there. She was one of the main reasons I knew I had to attend BlytheCon. She was such a sweet person and I feel like I know Pigeon more because of meeting Megan. I feel bad about not remembering every person's face; so much was happening at the time so I knew it would be impossible to remember everything.

One of the most exciting parts of the day was the raffle. I only bought five tickets but THREE of my numbers happened to get picked. O____O Because one of the items I won was a double, I only got two of the prizes-- I didn't mind though. The big prize I won was a free mohair reroot for a Blythe. The second prize I won was a free Blythe application for an iPhone. Because I don't have an iPhone, I gave my prize to Rebecca. I was so excited (and surprised) that I was shaking the entire time after my numbers were called.

Needless to say, the entire event was more fun than I could have ever imagined. Like I told Rebecca and Sherri later on, the BlytheCon trip was the best vacation I've ever had. Getting to know both of them is probably what I love most from the experience. Unlike the friends I had in high school and college, I never felt like I actually connected with them. They didn't make me feel socially awkward and we shared so many interests. I think it would have been impossible to not love those two girls.

All of my photos can be viewed in my Facebook BlytheCon 2009 album and in my BlytheCon 2009 Flickr album.

Many thanks to Shawn and Ryan who drove me all the way to Indiana. Many more thanks to both Sherri and Rebecca for being the sweetest friends ever. And a lot of other "thank yous" go to those of you who followed my adventure on Twitter!

Leaving for BlytheCon tomorrow!
As many people already know from Facebook and Twitter, I'll be leaving for BlytheCon tomorrow. The day snuck up on me so fast. I didn't realize how soon I'd be leaving!

I mentioned on Facebook a few weeks ago how torn I was about going to BlytheCon, mostly because of how much the trip would cost me if I flew to Atlanta. Thank goodness, Rebecca contacted me and invited me to drive with her and Sherri. =D Because we'll be driving and staying at friends' houses, we don't have to worry about any plane ticket or hotel costs. I don't know what I'd do without those two. <3

Leaving for BlytheCon!

After a lot of messaging and emailing over the past few weeks, we got all of our plans straightened out. Shawn, Ryan and I will be driving to Indiana to meet up with Rebecca and Sherri tomorrow (Wednesday). (Ryan is coming along so Shawn has company for the ride back home. ^^) I'll be arriving a day earlier than Sherri so Rebecca and I will have some extra time to prepare for the bigger trip the following day. Then on Thursday, the three of us will be heading to Rebecca's Mom's house where we'll be staying a few nights. I believe Friday is the day we're all going to an aquarium. That night, we'll be going out with a bunch of other Blythe people to a nice restaurant. ^___^ Saturday is the day BlytheCon will be held. Since Rebecca has a booth there, the three of us will be getting to Atlanta extra early so she can set up. Ahh, this is all pretty exciting!

I was a little more nervous about the trip a few weeks ago. Honestly, I've never had very good luck with trips and traveling. When I was little, my family vacations always went sour because of Dad's temper. I have a lot of very upsetting memories from those days... Then when Beth and I went on our vacation to California a couple years ago, my endometriosis kicked in full swing and I ended up sick, laying on the floor of an underground parking lot. Beth was then put in a very bad, very dangerous situation, concerning a guy friend of the girl we were staying with. After that happened, I felt like our trip was ruined. And then the last time Shawn and I went to Chicago (only about two hours away from home), I ended up getting so sick I was delirious.

The good news about this trip is that I'm preparing for everything I can possibly think of. Ever since I started taking birth control, my endometriosis has calmed down a ton... so I shouldn't have to worry about that. Rebecca and Sherri will be with me, and I've known them for years online (ever since I first started collecting Blythes!). So I know I'll be safe and comfortable with the whole people/friends situation. I'll be taking all the medicine I might need-- for stuff like headaches and random cramping. I think I'm good to go.

If you want to keep up with my adventure...

I'll be posting photos of what I'm currently up to for BlytheCon. In fact, I've already started posting photos of what I'm doing as I get ready to leave tomorrow. I'll be sending photos to Twitter all the way up to Sunday, the day I'll be heading back home. n___n

My updates are kept private due to some issues I've had with people following me. But if you're already friends with me somewhere else, and we're not yet friends on Twitter, please let me know! Preparing for Halloween on Gaia
I wasn't planning to dress up my Gaia avatar for Halloween but I ended up doing it anyway. (It's difficult to ignore all the holiday commotion going on with friends, tee hee.) The whole traditional black and orange theme never really fit Milk Kittea's personality or style... I found a way around it though!

First version:PhotobucketRevised version:Photobucket

I've decided to dress her up while keeping her usual dessert & sweet style. n___n Yay. She's going as a butterfly at a masquerade ball. With this type of theme, she can still use items she's known for, like the Buttercreams and ume blossom. <3 Then I added more festive items like a mask and a trick-or-treat pail to fit the holiday, along with a gorgeous pair of wings that were just released to add to that costumesque feel. So far, the responses I've gotten have been extremely positive. I like knowing I can make people happy and express my creativity all at once with something as simple as a few pixels.
